Living Large in an Airstream Trailer House Tour | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles

Matthew Hofman has completely remodeled his vintage airstream into 160 square feet of functional, neat & stylish space for himself and his girlfriend.

It's a good reminder of how little space and "stuff" we actually need to live.

Suh-weet Holiday Trailer

Awww...darling holiday trailer. And a silver tree like one my Nana would have in the living room.  Got this pic from: Cerphe's Progressive Show and EcoPlanetRadio.com. Cerphe is a super cool dude who's been spinning the rock hits for a long time.

Long long trailer

Saw this on the highway on our way to Mendocino. But we were passed it before I could get the camera out.
Then, today, we saw it again when we pulled into a Caspar RV park while on a summer camping reconnaissance mission.
Couldn't tell what kind of trailer it is but it sure is long!

A very long day lands us at Carpinteria State Beach

Tom is looking for RV parks in Pismo or San Luis Obispo. We've been in our space @Carpinteria State Beach for about 30 minutes.

We both contributed to this post:

Tom : Wedged between two other rigs with 4 feet on one side and 6 feet on the other, this park is a real peach.
Forget that I dragged mostly my bike for three blocks due to bike rack failure, my fault; forget that we had a complete tread separation on one of the trailer tires and for AAA for an hour ...those were the highlights of our day.
I wouldn't park this close to other rigs in a Walmart parking lot.
(Laughing )
We bought three things of cayenne pepper to scare away the raccoons we'd heard about!
Ya gotta laugh ...

Schelby : I can feel our rig move every time the people next to us open their trailer door. Oh, I think that was a beer can kicked under our trailer.
Apparently, there is a waste treatment facility nearby ...so, we just lit some incense.
And we have cracked two beers. Things are looking up. Or at least it's smelling better ..

TrailerLuvTv Video: Cruising Around the Playa at Night

Random lights at night...cruising around the playa:

Burning Man photo snapped from Earth's orbit - CSMonitor.com

Yes, Burning Man sold out this year. No, it's not the last year of Burning Man (contrary to the perrenial rumor)

Here's how it lays out:

TrailerLuvTV Video: Finding Camp Nomadia

After the 5 hour line...we finally make it onto the playa and search for our new "home" with Camp Nomadia:

While checking out the blogger tool, Bloglovin', I stumbled across this travel trailer transformation.

A 1968 Yellowstone gets a makeover and becomes a travelling showcase for Little Chief Honeybean.

While the closet area takes up a good deal of the newly transformed space for the host's business and interests...it sure is cute! It's amazing what some paint, new curtains & seat-covers and peel and stick floor tiles can do!

TrailerLuv's Playa Camp & Visitors

We caravaned onto the playa with Roy and set up camp. Shelter, outdoor kitchen, seating and ice the coolers. Dan is our first visitor!

Then Sacramento Dave rolls in for a cold one...

Roger & Debbie come by to check out our set-up and find out where the K-SVERT Mobile Broadcast Center is stationed

R & D wanted to make sure Burning Man was as fun as they remember from last year!

The Trek to the Playa

After stopping in Reno to load up on more playa supplies, we hit the road to the Black Rock Desert. The scenery is stark.

Ah, I see that we're not the only ones making the pilgrimage to Black Rock City...

Then we start seeing the signs...and yes, we turned right here:

This year's theme: Rites of Passage

And then we're in line...a long, long line...5 hours of long, long line...

Can we hit 1000 page views in one month?

At this moment, we're 4 page views away from hitting 1000 in a month.

That astounds me since I never even considered "the analytics" when I started this little exploration of our adventures in travel trailers.

Thank you for visiting, watching the videos, commenting, sharing and participating. It's fun to make this stuff.

Oh, and if you don't mind, click on a sponsor or two to see what they have to offer. You might connect with something cool and we'll make a few cents to help pay for our next trip bumper sticker. Ha!

Burning Man Project Update: Photos from Work Day 5/6

Finalizing facade construction pieces, Tom & Roy:

Family pitches in to help with the painting: Our young man Thomas, Auntie Kim & Niece Dana

Burning Man Project Video Update: Work Day 5: Paint That Facade!

Official Work Day 5 actually began last night. After dark, Tom projected the image of a radio dial onto a piece of plywood so that we could trace the outlines with pencil. We traced numbers and lines and even had a close encounter with an opossum that visits our backyard at night. (Young Thomas had never seen an opossum up close. They are creepy lookin' critters, that's for sure.)

In the morning light, Roy arrived to help Tom with the final construction pieces of the facade while I had a couple of helpers join me for painting duties. (Young Thomas, Auntie Kim & Niece Dana.) On the docket: the dial and radio station promotional signs.

Burning Man Project photo Update : Curtain panels are up!

Curtain panels for the back and sides are complete!

Burning Man Project Update photo: Facade taking shape

The facade pieces make an appearance. Right now they're all yellow but before we head to the playa they'll be painted to look like the face of a radio.

Burning Man Project Update: Work Day 4: Reinforce & Enclose

Hardware & software: Mike reinforces the side trays, I make huge curtains and Tom staples it together. TrailerLuvTv video:

Burning Man Project Update: Outdoor Kitchen & Does this fridge work?

We're planning on setting up an outdoor kitchen for chillin' & grillin' on the playa. The guys have removed the kitchenette from the former tent trailer that's now being turned into Mobile K-SVERT.

Can we convert the parts into a workable outdoor kitchen that will serve as meal headquarters for the three of us (me, Tom & Roy) and provide a space for us to whip up tasty snacks for impromptu Happy Hours?

We don't know yet if the little fridge even works but Tom is re-plumbing it to hook it up to some propane (a propane fridge is a real plus in the desert where electricity is hard to come by) and then we'll light it, wait and see if it does indeed get cold:

Yes! We have a chilling propane fridge complete with playa dust already in it!

Camp TrailerLuv's visit to New Brighton & the Boardwalk Photos

We had a happy little campsite. Good sized with a picnic table & fire ring -- love an outdoor fire!

Tommy contemplates the view of the beach from the bluff on which the campgrounds sit:

Heading to the Giant Dipper at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk:

A day on a roller coaster wouldn't be complete without a deep-friend snack, right?

Tommy shops for a new Burning Man outfit?
